I've wanted to be a writer since reading Carolyn Keene's Nancy Drew series in the third grade. That dream took 30 years and a dramatic experience to become a reality. When our first son, Ben, was born with a rare genetic mutation, writing became a way for me to find support, share experiences and work through the emotions of raising a child with special needs.
In 2012, I started writing professionally about art, business, parenting and travel. My stories, more than 800, have been published in regional and national outlets such as Business North Carolina, Courier Newsroom, Our State, SouthPark Magazine and The Washington Post.
