Ever since reading Carolyn Keene's Nancy Drew series in the third grade, I wanted to be a writer. It took 30 years and a dramatic experience for that dream to become a reality. When our first son, Ben, was born with a rare genetic mutation, writing became a way for me to find support, share experiences and work through the emotions of raising a child with special needs.

In 2012, I started writing professionally about travel, business and parenting. My stories have been published in AAA, Business North Carolina, The Charlotte Observer, Costco Connection, Good Housekeeping and the Washington Post.
